Private Dinner Cruise in Austin

It was a delightful experience! There was a short, friendly, instructional orientation, including a map of the lake. The food was delivered, and we were off! We had no problems with the boat; it handled just as described. The weather was perfect and the view of the city was amazing! We will definitely do it again and next time we will take guests.

We had a great experience. The staff was really friendly and attentive. Jason went above and beyond to show us how to navigate the lake and use the boat. The beef and chicken fajitas were delicious. We look forward to cruising with them again!

WE LOVED THIS EXPERIENCE! the weather was perfect, our intake guy was informative, friendly and funny (a little chatty, but it was cool). we didn't really care for the food, but the weather was gorgeous, vibe was hitting; and other cool people out on the water to chat with a little bit. definitely worth the price and parking challenge. Go, go, go enjoy!!

It was wonderful :) Being on the lake in the evening was so peaceful and beautiful. The staff were kind and helpful and the food was hot and fresh. We were able to time our trip to see the bats and it was so cool

This was an amazing experience and I'd recommend any couple partake in this. It's a very different and unique date idea and is great for special occasions. The food was pretty good and the view was even better. We were lucky enough to see the famous bats as we were coming back to the dock. Laurie (sp) was very courteous and took many pictures for us at the end.

Cute dinner cruise for two. We were worried about the heat but the boat was covered and the lake was breezy in the evening.

This was a birthday gift and my friend LOVED it! The dinner was very good and the views of Austin were gorgeous! We left at 6pm and the sun was just beginning to set. There was a place to plug in your phone, so we got to listen to great music and entertain all the passersby on canoes while we jammed out. We really loved having the boat all to ourselves! The only gripe that I have is the description as “Self-Driving”. I assumed that we would just turn it on and have it drive a set path without intervention, but WE had to drive and none of us had ever driven a boat. It was fine, but would’ve been better to know ahead of time. All in all, it was a great experience and I would definitely do it again.

Staff was excellent. Boarded and prepped very quickly. Literally no waiting! Everything was set for a perfect dinner cruise. We loved it!

The time was wonderful, it was 102 all day, but by 7:30pm it was cool and the winds were up. The experience was amazing, map was great, instructions wonderful. I too am a little disappointed in the driving not able to eat with each other. I would have paid to have my daughter drive us around the lake but not at the extra dinner rate. Overall the experience was exceptions, food was good, lots to drink you could have brought out own however, there was no need, we had water and tea. The food was a lot, we selected the chicken with pasta, and the salad was good, the dressing I selected was a vinaigrette and it was delicious. They thought of everything, the food was covered and still hot, it really was a great experience!!!

I love the private dinner cruise! This is the second time we have chosen this experience, both for birthdays. The team at Cloud 9 helped us find a time, as the times we wanted were already taken. The crew at Capitol Cruises could not have been more friendly, accommodating, and helpful. We had someone with mobility issues, and they worked to get her on the boat, and then back off. The food from the Hyatt is always delicious(and way more than enough, but the Capitol Cruises folks had take-out boxes available, so we didn't have to throw it away.) And seeing the bats fly from Congress bridge from the boat was awesome, didn't have to figure out parking, and deal with the large number of people on the bridge, which would have been difficult with a walker. Overall, this experience is definitely worth it, we'll be doing it again soon.

I purchased this experience to celebrate my 6-year anniversary with my husband. We really enjoyed ourselves, felt the staff went above and beyond to take care of us, and we loved it so much that we are already planning another experience in December!

This dinner cruise was beyond my expectation! It was a perfect night to celebrate my girlfriend and I's anniversary. The instructor was very polite and helpful. The food was alright. Driving the boat was so much fun, but it distracted us from sitting down and enjoying our food. We had to keep getting up to drive because either the boat was going towards land or another boat was coming at us. But overall I completely am satisfied with the cruise. I totally would recommend it to anyone trying to enjoy a nice evening with a significant other.

We had a great time! There was more than enough food and it was all very good. Aside from the poor girl who was running around trying to get everyone's food to them, we felt terrible that she had to make another trip for wine glasses. All in all, highly recommend! It was a great way to celebrate our anniversary!! Would do it again.

I had an extremely amazing time sharing this gift experience with my husband for his birthday! The staff were friendly, the set up was easy & nice, the cruise was clean, and the weather (although that wasn't under the control of Cloud9 or cruise staff).... was perfect!! The woman that checked us in gave us clear concise directions....even advised us to camp nearby as that was something that 'd be fun to enjoy! I've already shared the website with my best friend because of how easy it was to find when I did an Internet search... And because of how easy it was to navigate through exceptional ideas for gifts or for personal experiences. I would gladly share with the rest of my friends now that I've had a personal experience of my own with cloud 9 living.!!

I took the boat ride in Austin,TX. The food was great very very nice enviorment. It was very romantic. BUT we were notified we were gonna drive the boat when we got there. We didnt make a big deal about it but it would have been nice to know when we booked it. That was the only thing that caught us by surprise. It was still awesome. I would definately do it again. For all the fellas out there, it really sets the mood. Driving the boat is easier than you think. The tea they provided tasted like crap. Thank god we had wine, champaign , and sprite.fellas Take your girl out. This is the most romantic thing i have done for my girl in 2 years so yeaa i was way past due.. Im 21. If i could do it and im this young ;for all my older guys... You all can definately get it donee!!!

Everything was great.I would recommend that there be more food options or at least make the pasta dish less spicy.

My date and I loved it! I would recommend this idea to anyone that would like a romantic dinner for two on a private boat. We actually got to drive the boat ourselves. The food was very well prepared also.

I thought the web booking process was more difficult than it needed to be. I would have liked a simpler, more obvious signup process. I would have liked more assurance that my email address wouldn't be added to a marketing list unless I wanted it to be. I would have liked a bit more information up front about the fact that "you drive the boat." Mentally, it's a very different thing to prepare for than "dinner cruise," especially on an evening with high winds like when we went out. Also, were we supposed to leave a tip for the boat dock operators? We weren't sure. That would have been good to state in the description. Thank you for providing this service!

Awesome experience!! It was a surprise for my husband's birthday... he loved every moment of it, and became a memorable night!! Thank you Cloud Nine!!!

The boat ride turned out beautifully. However, there was room for an unhappy trip to have occurred. We were not aware of the bats leaving from under the Ann Richards bridge when we booked the trip. So, we booked it for 7pm. Had we originally known about the bats, we would have booked at 8pm. However, our meals arrived to the boat late....7:20 or so. The instructors at Capital Cruises gave us the option for another hour free because of the delay. This was very generous and appreciated. It gave us the ability to be on the lake a little longer and to see the bats fly. The food was delicious! So, this was the making of a perfect cruise. It all turned out beautifully because of the errors.

Waited 30 min for food to arrive, but it was a decent meal. Boat was in lousy state of repair. Nothing worked except propulsion and that felt pretty iffy. Nevertheless, we had a great time.

We really enjoyed the experience. However, for the price that my daughter paid for this, we feel it is necessary to point out the negatives. (1) It was just the 2 of us and the boat was obviously for a party of at least 4. The boat advertised in the picture of the experience on your website was there, but given to a party of 3 and had a nice table cloth. Our boat was very large for just us, and the dining table was not secure and not covered with a cloth (condensation from the water/tea pitchers ran in puddles on to the seats and floor). If you put the slightest pressure on the table with your hand or elbow the entire table flipped up. This made moving around and even eating a precarious situation. NO leaning at all on that table, or our meal and drinks were flying. (2) We only got half the meal advertised. We didn't discover until we were already away from the dock that there was no salad or bread to accompany our pasta meal. Again, we made our own fun and enjoyed the evening, but for what my daughter paid, the value just wasn't there -- at least not that particular night. Whether I would recommend is more of a maybe than a no.

We enjoyed our dinner cruise for two, but found it to be frustrating as well. The meal and scenery were lovely, but the cruise was self-guided and self-navigation. Since we were the only two on the boat, one of us always had to be paying attention to steering/driving. The lake was extremely busy and we had to constantly correct for the larger boats and tours as well as the kayaks, canoes, paddle boats, and SUPs on the water. If there had been an anchor or a designated place for us to tie up and eat, it would have made things a lot nicer. As it was, one of us was feeding the other while they were piloting as we did not dare leave the wheel to eat. All of the people were helpful and very nice, and we had no trouble booking our experience. I just wish we had been able to relax and enjoy it more.

We were emailed the wrong time in our confirmation email. It said our cruise was at noon when it was apparently at 7:00 pm. The food was bland. Best part of the experience was the boat and the view.

Great experience and Cloud 9 was very good in regards to customer service. The place however had pretty bad Customer service. I called 5 times, on five separate days to find out some logistics of the experience and never received a return call. I was really trying to set up a photographer to take pictures on the river bank of our engagement, but since I could not find out additional information, this was not possible. Didn't ruin my experience, but definitely took away from a very important moment.

We were very excited to cruise all around on Town Lake, its an amazing view and such a break from reality so we were looking forward to our romantic dinner cruise. The staff was friendly upon arrival, the paperwork was easy to fill out. Our dinner delivery was behind schedule, so our departure was slightly delayed, but once we got underway the boat had difficulty steering which limited our navigability and experience. We enjoyed the view, but unfortunately the boat itself was less than we desirable. If you are looking to float this is great, if you are looking to fully take advantage of exploring, it'd suggest a different experience.

Online we were told the experience is between a 4 hour window but didn't receive confirmation of the specific time until I called. Also, the online package says that chips and queso come with the deal while in person they said they only offer chips and queso for parties of 10 or more (very strange). Even when showing them the online package details, they still refused. The check in process was ok, not as smooth as I would have liked. They seemed disorganized and didn't actually prepare the boat nor some of the food in advance. We waited around for 20 minutes to get a cooler with ice and water with tea, as well as our fajita dinner. They completely forgot to bring a cooler with drinks. How can someone forget in 100 degree weather?? The boat experience itself was alright. Lady bird lake is a no wake zone so don't expect a jet ski or anything fast. The fajitas were not all that great either. Would I book this experience again? Probably not, especially because of how poorly they planned this. It was my SOs birthday and they just made us feel like we were an inconvenience. Its also a lot more expensive than if you were to book direct. The overall experience was suboptimal and below expectations.
