What happens on the day
There’s no better way to end a day in Yellowstone National Park than by taking in a spectacular sunset over the vast open water of Yellowstone Lake. This fascinating 3-hour kayak tour takes you away from the crowds and into some of the most primitive and remote areas of the park – the perfect spot for soaking up the natural wonder of a Yellowstone sunset.
Meet up with your experienced guides and kayak instructors on the western edge of Yellowstone Lake for an introduction to the history and geology of the area. They’ll provide all of the kayaking equipment needed and give you a brief lesson in paddling techniques, so you get the most out of the experience.
Perfect for both beginners and pros, the touring kayaks are specifically designed for stability, speed, and ease of paddling. Climb aboard and dip your paddle into the water, admiring the sky’s brilliant colors that are already beginning to reflect off the rippling water.
Follow your guide around the shoreline to the West Thumb Geyser Basin to explore geothermal features that aren’t easily accessed by any other means. Watch in awe as the sky above is painted with stunning reds, oranges, and yellows. Soak it all in and keep an eye out for local wildlife as you paddle on to discover the more remote area of the primitive Potts Geyser Basin before returning back to your starting point just before dark.
Make it a trip you’ll never forget with this one-of-a-kind Yellowstone Sunset Kayak Tour!
