What happens on the day
Brush, feed, and interact with curious farm animals during this 60-minute animal encounter! Families with children as young as 3 can get in on the fun and learn what it takes to care for these adorable animals.
Your wild day begins at the main entrance of the Oglebay Good Zoo. Located in Wheeling, West Virginia, this incredible zoo is the only institution in the state that is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). It’s home to 68 species of animals including a barn full of farmyard favorites!
After checking in, an animal care professional will lead you to the zoo’s bright red barn. Listen to the hee-haw of donkeys as your zookeeper guide introduces you to each animal. Learn what makes them unique and see what it takes to care for them. Over the course of 60 minutes, you’ll get to brush goats, pet a rabbit or guinea pig, toss treats to the chickens, and help train a donkey! You’ll also get a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like being a real-life zookeeper while helping the team create unique animal enrichment items.
