Capitol Hill Food Tour in Washington, DC

Good value and plenty to eat. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. We loved exploring Capitol Hill and will return.

Great food with very large portions. Weather was great for walking. The walking experience was like one we had in Paris a few years ago. Washington, DC has many hidden gems for the locals / out of state visitors to explore. This experience is a great gift for any age group.

Our guide, Chris, was so friendly and extremely knowledgeable with any questions that were asked. The food was delicious at each stop and by the time the tour was over, we were stuffed. Will definitely be doing another booking with Cloud 9 Living!

This was a very creative and generous gift from some friends -- the gift of an experience! We had a delightful afternoon of learning some interesting facts of the area and tasting some delicious food! Great balance between walking and eating. Andrew was an excellent guide -- friendly, engaging and knowledgeable. One suggestion would be to have a little more info about the food for foodies. For example: ingredients, cooking methods used, region originates from, etc. Overall a wonderful experience! We will do it again and bring friends!

The tour guide for the Capitol Hill Food Tour was Chris. What a doll! Not only was he personable, but his knowledge of the history of DC was incredible. I grew up 10 miles from where we took our tour and didn't know any of the history that he imparted to us. He was friendly with everyone in the group and was great to my 82-year-old mother. I would love to take another of Chris' tours, and have already looked at the Cloud 9 Living website to find other tours to take.

It was a sociable way to experience some Capitol Hill area eateries, along with learning some of the District's history. Andrew was a pleasant and friendly tour guide. Would recommend the food tour, especially to city visitors.

It was a very enjoyable tour and a great way to try some different food and restaurants. Jennifer was very knowledgeable about the area as well. Go hungry....you will get a lot of food. I would highly recommend the tour.

Had no idea what to expect about this event but it turned out to be fantastic. Booking was incredibly easy, and I heard back from a representative very quickly. We had a small tour group, but I think that worked out very well. We were able to all get to know each other. Our tour guide, Eric, was really knowledgeable. It was a great event, and I've already recommended it to others.

I was highly impressed with the whole experience and would recommend it to friends and family. Our guide, Ryan, was so friendly and knowledgeable and made the whole experience even that much more enjoyable.

My husband and I had a great time and learned some interesting facts about the area. Because it was off the beaten path, it was something that I don't think you would get from a bigger tour of DC. The pace was very relaxing -- you didn't feel rushed while at any of the restaurants. Now that we've been introduced to the area, we plan to go back on our own and enjoy it with friends and family.

I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Jennifer was friendly and very knowledgeable. She arrived late but I appreciated that she called everyone in the group to inform us of her delay. She was able to field most questions and bring her knowledge to bear on them. I thought the tour was very well structured -- punctuating visits to restaurants with walks around the area and historical information. For someone who is new to DC, it opened my eyes to this district. Informative and entertaining (and yummy!). Fantastic. Keep it up!

Not only did we have a good time, but our guide gave us a history lesson as well. Her knowledge was very extensive and covered the history of America as well as of the region. We would consider doing this again in another location.

The Capitol Hill Food Tour was a GREAT experience, enriched with history and delicious food!! The guide was very knowledgeable in both food and the DC history which enhanced the tour. This was a great way to spend an afternoon with history, food, drinks, and fun. Would definitely recommend this tour to the novice foodie in the DC area!!!

It was a great tour overall. We particularly enjoyed the pointing out of the historical buildings and the explanation of their stories. The only downside was how cold it was (our tour was in February).

Our guide, Christopher Pitt was very knowledgeable about the neighborhood, food, and history. We came home with full stomachs and lots of information about the history of DC. Loved the pace of the tour, the restaurants selected for variety, and the quantity of the food. Will book another tour real soon.

We ended up being switched from the captial hill food tour to the Georgetown Food tour due to an event going on downtown. We had a fantastic time! Andrew, our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Georgetown as well as the food and restaurants we were sampling. We had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend it to anyone!

Our tour guide was exceptionally knowledgeable and the food choices were very good. An excellent tour for out-of-towners and a fun tour for a local to do something a bit different.

My friend purchased me a specific experience but when I went to schedule it, I was told. That experience was not going to run for six months. I gave the customer service representative a date and asked what was available for that date, and he quickly provided me a list of alternative experiences available for that date. I chose one and it was booked almost immediately. Great customer service and fun tour!

We were originally signed up for the Capitol Hill food tour but it was cancelled due an emergency with the tour guide. We moved to the Old town Alexandria tour and enjoyed our time. Personally, I think the history and walking tour portion was better than the food selected.

Our guide, Briana was excellent. Great personality and full of delightfully presented info, both about the architecture and history as well as the food. Having been on 2 NYC Food Tours, I expected several stops with tastings, and one sit down. I enjoyed all the stops but would have liked only one sit down and more tastings.

Great experience! Would be nice if we had an opportunity to pick between 2 or 3 items at each place rather than having it all pre-selected for you...but otherwise great.

The tour guide for the Capitol Hill Food Tour was great! Joe was informative, friendly and thoughtful with the people on the tour. The food was very good. I especially liked the Belgium beet ravioli and the Greek food. The El Salvadorian food was also good, but could have been served hotter. We also had a minor problem in that a waiter at the Belgium restaurant kept the change (less than a dollar) from a bill for soda. The gratuity was included in the bill. That was presumptive on his part. Overall, I would definitely do this tour again with this company.

We really enjoyed it because it was something different. Although there was plenty of food, I didn't think it was extraordinarily fabulous except for the last place we went to.

Good experience. My only constructive criticism: we would like the guide to improve the narrative of the tour. We felt like we were going to random restaurants without knowing why.

This was neither a good food tour, nor a good tour of an area. The information that the guide had about the area was pretty superficial, and she gave next to no information about the restaurants or the food. There was no excitement about the restaurants or food --- in fact they seemed like an afterthought. They were very badly-chosen and did not represent the quality of food and restaurants I know to exist in DC and around Capitol Hill. We walked up and down 8th Street, past some really exciting and cool places, and then went to the most generic and down-at-heel places for food tastings. It was very disappointing.
