What happens on the day
Feel the rush of adrenaline run through your body as you speed down the airstrip and lift off into the clear blue sky in an authentic 1943 North American AT-6! The T6 Texan served as an advanced trainer aircraft for the US Army Air Corps and the US Navy during WWII. The expertly restored Texan was once equipped with guns and bomb attachments and saw service with the Mexican Air Force at one time during its military service during WWII.
Schedule a flight in the expertly restored 1943 T-6 Texan and you will have the flight experience of a lifetime. During the flight you can choose to take the controls of this historic WWII advanced trainer and enjoy your own personalized flight training experience. Each flight is customized based on your input and experience.
Your pilot/flight instructor will explain and demonstrate the operation of the aircraft and guide you through various maneuvers at your pace. Each flight will also include aerobatics if requested. Soaring above the beautiful Northern Virginia landscape you will be able to experience what it was like flying a fighter during WWII. Upon completion of your flight you will receive documentation of your flight training. Bring your pilot logbook if you have one or we can furnish a complimentary flight record.
Choose between 3 fantastic flight options:
30-Minute entry level training sortie: Enjoy approximately 30 minutes of flight training in this historic aircraft. Your flight will be customized on your input and experience. Sit back and relax and enjoy the views while your pilot describes and demonstrates the operation of the aircraft or you can choose to take the controls for a bit and experience some hands-on flying if you desire. Your flight can also include a few aerobatic maneuvers if requested.
45-Minute extended training sortie: Enjoy approximately 45 minutes of flight training in this historic aircraft. This flight includes everything you would experience in the 30-minute flight option while giving you just a little more time to either take in the sights and experience flying in this magnificent aircraft or a little more time to take the controls and fly the plane if you wish. This flight can also include some aerobatic maneuvers if requested.
60-Minute full length training sortie: This deluxe 1-hour flight option gives you the full-length WWII flight training experience. Your pilot/instructor will customize this experience based on your input and experience. You can choose to sit back and relax and just enjoy the views while your pilot describes and demonstrates the operation of the aircraft or this flight gives you plenty of additional time to take the controls and do some flying for the ultimate hands-on flight experience. It is your choice! This flight can also include aerobatic maneuvers if requested.

The T6 Texan can accommodate 1 passenger in addition to the pilot.
Are there any age or weight restrictions?
It's recommended that participants are at least 16 years old. If under 16 years old please call Virgin Experience Gifts to inquire. Participants must weigh less than 275 pounds and be able to enter and exit the aircraft without assistance.
Can I do aerobatic maneuvers during the flight?
Yes! We can do aerobatic maneuvers, just let your pilot know that you're up for the adventure!
Returns, Exchanges & Cancellations
Returns
Experience Vouchers that have not been redeemed can be returned hassle-free within 14 days. All refunds will be made to the original purchaser.
Exchanges
Experience Vouchers that have not been redeemed can be exchanged for anything else in our marketplace at any time. If you choose to exchange for an experience that costs more, you'll simply have to pay the difference. If you choose to exchange for an experience that costs less, you'll have a credit towards your next booking with Virgin Gifts.
Cancellation Policy
Once you have scheduled a date and received a booking confirmation, no refunds will be given. Rescheduling is allowed up to 72 hours prior to your experience. If you have to reschedule more than once a $100 fee will apply. Failure to appear on your booked date or to reschedule at least 72 hours prior to your booked date will result in the loss of the value of your experience. In the event your experience is canceled due to inclement weather you will reschedule your experience directly with your pilot.
