Riverboat Dinner Cruise in Newport

We have a very nice evening with dinner and the cruise. Was not sure what to expect but had no issues in checking in.

The boat was fantastic. The directions and signs in town showing you where to board are terrible!!!!! Everyone we talked to had major trouble finding the dock.

The Captain and staff were accommodating. The food was good. Many "top shelf" alcohols were not available due to "the season just starting."

Wonderful view of the river and service was great.

Very nice hope to do it again soon...

Went for family dinner for daughter's birthday. Food was really good, atmosphere and the experience was just awesome.

The trip was well organized and on time. we had great weather so the visual experience was excellent.

Great crew, great food and beautiful scenery! Perfect adventure for our anniversary! Would definitely recommend!

At the beginning the organization getting on the boat was kind of messy because of a family reunion but afterwards it was nothing but good. Good Food Music & scenery & people I would definitely be back it was worth the money...

We had a great buffet meal and could have had seconds if we wanted. There was also cheesecake for dessert. We were free to walk around on all the decks of the boat. The live band was at a good volume, nothing too fancy though - which was perfect for us!

The cruise itself was lovely and we loved docking directly across from the Cincinnati Reds stadium. The buffet was absolutely delicious - plenty of choices for all dietary preferences.I also liked having assigned tables rather than open seating. The downsides were we were given scant information about timing. We were told that boarding would begin at 5p, when in reality it began at 6p. It also said the cruise would last 2 hours, which was true, but didn't account for the hour we sat onboard before we departed. We got there at 5p as instructed, so all in, we were there for 4 hours! We were seated at a table near the stern, which was on an incline. Things kept sliding off the table and it was uncomfortable sitting at an angle. Also, parking was atrocious along a very long, narrow driveway. After debarking, we got to our car quickly and thought we could get out just as quickly. But people who were parked closer were cutting into the long line of cars rather than waiting their turn. It was very rude behavior. Additionally, the Reds ballgame let out at the same time, so it took us close to an hour to get out of the parking area and clear of the congestion. If the boat could leave a bit earlier and dock before the game was over, that would be so much better. All in all, it was a nice experience, but I think the details could be communicated much better than they were.

The scenic route on the boat was very nice. The food was not the best but not awful. Biggest complaint we have is the DJ catered to the children's/teenager's song requests non stop making the music options terrible. Not sure why the song I requested was never played. Would have been nice to hear the song my husband and I danced to on our wedding night since we were celebrating our anniversary like so many others that night. Not only were the songs that were played obnoxious, but LOUD. Couldn't hear the person next to you talking unless you went outside. Felt more like a party cruise than a romantic experience the description makes it out to be.

Great night for a boat ride down the river. The cons: Long line to get in to board an hour early like you are supposed to. Would be better if they gave folks timed entries (A-H 6:00-6:10, I-P 6:10-6:20, Q-Z 6:20-6:30 or something like that). It was hot standing in that room with a hundred people on a hot day. Boarding went pretty smoothly once they opened doors. Food was average - nothing special, but OK. We had sliced roast beef, Salmon with cream sauce, chicken, potato, green beans, salad, risotto, cookies and brownies. It is a buffet and the real drawback is nowhere does it tell you that food is served as soon as you board (as early as 6:00pm and they put food away before they depart at 7:00)> If you don't arrive until just before your depart time, you miss the dinner! Nowhere in the instructions we received did it say that. Bar line was very long during dinner - only one open bar on the dining floor and they said there was another bar, but it was closed to us due to a private party, so much of the time is spent in line for drinks if that's what you choose (we did not get drinks - water, tea and coffee is included). After dinner we walked up to the top deck where it is open-air. They had chairs or you can stand at the rail. It was a nice evening to be up top, but if you go in the cooler months you might want to bring a jacket. All-in-all, it was a nice experience. Nothing stood out that "wow'd" me, but it was nice.

Nice relaxing tour of the city, beautiful scenery with good food. My only complaint is that the cruise was supposed to be "approx. 2.5hrs" and we were done in less than 2 hours.

The weather was beautiful for the cruise on the Ohio River. The staff was attentive at the dinner buffet. There were plenty of chairs on the dock for us to sit and enjoy the view.

The boat itself was nice and cruise was great. The food was sub par. Basically average wedding food. But overall a nice experience

My husband and I were given this dinner cruise as a gift. It was a perfect night for a dinner cruise. The food was excellent. However, the tables we were seated at were so cramped together, you had to walk around several tables to get back to your seat because we were backed right up against another table. And if we had sat on the other side of the table, I was afraid food would be dropped on me because that is how close I would have been to the food and the guy cutting the meat. And I felt sorry for the people sitting by the doors to get out because there was only about 2 feet of space between them and the door. The drinks were WAY over priced. If you wanted a frozen drink you had to buy the souvenir glass... $13.25 for a frozen drink!!! And for $60 a person they can't even throw in soft drinks!!! Also, there was supposed to be wine tasting and we never did get any wine, nor was it mentioned by the servers. Other than that, we enjoyed listening to the music and cruising along the river. I wouldn't mind paying $60 if the drinks weren't so expensive.

We got there about 30 minutes early and went in to make sure we were all good and the three ladies at the front desk were rude and wouldn’t even look at our papers. When we came back we were in line and the captain said we didn’t have the right paperwork we had to go back to the desk of rude 3 ladies and they did correct our paper work and then we had to stand in line again. A very long line! Food was horrible!! Our server was very sweet!! Boat ride was nice but I could have lived happily with out seeing the x rated dancing from granny!! This was a gift I can live without getting ever again!

The boat was clean and the food was average to above average. My wife and I were expecting something a little more fancy than what was experienced. This would be a nice activity for a family get together that is slightly nicer than casual, but is not necessarily very kid friendly.

Food was good but consistently ran out on the buffet and had to wait for the buffet to be refreshed.

It took an hour to get one drink. The boat smelled like vomit. The food was cold and I wasn't able to get salad, or meat during dinner. I was asked to wait until the buffets were combined (1 full hour after dinner was served). The views were amazing, but the food and the condition of the ship was poor.

The waitress was very forgetful and one time brought me someone else's refill. The music was too loud during the dining experience - could hardly hear your partner. I would recommend making only 1 floor for dancing and music - that way everyone can enjoy peace/quiet and sites if needed

One of our members of our party is gluten free. Their idea of a gluten free was only an entrée that did not taste well. We had to pay for a warm shrimp cocktail in order for the GF member to eat. No appetizer or desert for the GF member. We will not recommend this cruise for any of our GF friends.

It was disappointing that our tickets showed a 7 30 pm departure and to arrive 30 minutes before. Not knowing that arrival was at 6pm and that they started cleaning up the dinner buffet at 7pm. We did finally get food at 7 30 and felt rushed to eat it. So I guess it was miscommunication somewhere but our tickets and email did not show arrive at 6 pm

I would not recommend this experience to anyone unless they are pure tourists from outside of Cincinnati. It was supposed to be a dinner cruise experience, but the only enjoyable part is the cruise. The dinner experience was awful. They did not properly manage the amount of the food they needed to provide, letting people just hanging there in line waiting for them to bring more food out. People came to the event mostly for special occasions, and when some people complained to the managers about the staffs were not closely monitoring the food on the counter and they had to just stand there waiting, i heard the manager saying "this is how buffet is." I couldn't believe what I heard, because first, this is NOT how buffet is, and second, she didn't apploize for the poor management but trying to get away with it by saying something like "this is how buffet is"?? This was really not a good experience with the dinner part. But at least we got to enjoy the cruise part and the live music. If someone wants to try the cruise dinner experience, I would just tell them to have a nice dinner in a restaurant somewhere else first.

None of the Covid-19 protocols outlined in the email I received were even close to being followed. Crew did not serve food. We served ourselves without any specific order. None of the crew who came to our table wore masks at all. The food was mediocre, with no green vegetables at all. This was my third riverboat cruise, and overall it was not a very enjoyable experience
