What happens on the day
If you've ever stared at a passing plane and wondered what it must be like to fly one... now is your chance to find out! Man the controls of a fully-restored WWII era biplane during this Learn to Fly a Biplane experience!
Your Certified FAA Pilot has over 20 years of experience flying sightseeing and aerobatic rides in Stearman Biplanes. He is even a former Champion of the Aerobatic Competition at the National Stearman Fly-In, so you will definitely be in capable hands!
Enjoy the wind in your hair as you cruise above the Charlotte skyline during this approximately 30 or 60-minute training flight. Your pilot will handle the take-off and landing, but you'll take over the controls once you are safely in the air. Don't worry! There is nothing you can do up there that your pilot can't undo. From the open cockpit, you'll also enjoy views of Lake Norman, Charlotte Motor Speedway and much more!
Want some more time to practice or experience some aerobatics? Upgrade to the 60-minute flight option and you'll do just that! Sit back, hold on, and enjoy as your pilot executes barrel rolls, hammerhead turns, and more!

Are there any weight restrictions?
Yes. Participants must weigh 250 lbs or less to fly.

Experience Vouchers that have not been redeemed can be returned hassle-free within 14 days. All refunds will be made to the original purchaser.
Exchanges
Experience Vouchers that have not been redeemed can be exchanged for anything else in our marketplace at any time. If you choose to exchange for an experience that costs more, you'll simply have to pay the difference. If you choose to exchange for an experience that costs less, you'll have a credit towards your next booking with Virgin Gifts.
Cancellation Policy
Once you have scheduled a date and received a booking confirmation, no refunds will be given. Rescheduling is allowed up to 72 hours prior to your experience, failure to appear on your booked date or to reschedule at least 72 hours prior to your booked date will result in the loss of the value of your experience. In the event your experience is canceled due to inclement weather you will reschedule your experience directly with your pilot.
