Just beyond the bustling city of Asheville lies a lush natural landscape that includes rivers, lakes, and the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains. You’ll venture into this wilderness, led by an expert, naturalist guide, for an unforgettable encounter with nature. This kayaking tour is the ideal way to learn about Asheville’s flora, fauna, and the wildlife that call it home.
You will meet at the Asheville Visitor Center where you'll meet your guide, receive a basic instruction overview, and then board your complimentary transportation to the launch site. Once there, you'll board your kayak and paddle off into the waters of Lake Lure. This lake is considered to be one of the most beautiful man-made lakes, nestled comfortably in lush foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. As you gentle paddle over its pristine waters, take in the resplendent natural scenery around you; the lush forests, rolling hills, and wide-open sky. You’ll even catch a glimpse of the iconic Chimney Rock!
This experience gives you the chance to ride on a tandem, sit-on-top kayak, which are much friendlier to beginners. However, your WNC certified naturalist guide will ensure a safe and fun experience for everyone, and can handle any questions or concerns that may come up. Life vests and any other necessary equipment is provided for you, so all you have to bring is your adventurous spirit! Your guide will share stories about the land and its many marvels, so you walk away from your adventure with a deeper appreciation of Asheville’s natural landscape.

Experience Vouchers that have not been redeemed can be returned hassle-free within 14 days. All refunds will be made to the original purchaser.

If you choose to exchange for an experience that costs more, you'll simply have to pay the difference. Cancellation Policy
Once you have received a booking confirmation, cancellations and rescheduling are allowed up to 48 hours prior to the experience. Failure to appear on your booked date or to cancel and reschedule at least 48 hours prior to your booked date will result in the loss of the value of your experience. In the event that your tour is cancelled due to inclement weather, maintenance issues, or unforeseen circumstances, you will be able to reschedule directly with the experience provider.
