West Village Food Tour in West Village - New York City

The food is secondary to the history lesson. Learning about the city and how it has changed was really interesting. Combining the food and how it evolved with the changing local culture was just the cherry on top!

Our West village food tour with Adam as our tour guide was so much fun! The food was great and we left full. A nice variety of ethnic foods and classic NYC food. I’ve lived in NY my whole life and there’s always something new to learn and try. I will be doing another tour soon.

The tour guide Matt was excellent. We sampled some great foods and saw some interesting and historic places. Matt was very informative and enthusiastic. Indecently, we hope that his proposal to his girl friend went well.

My husband and i went on the Food tour Saturday. We have never taken one of these and had no idea what to expect. What a great day! Adam was a great tour guide with lots of local lore to share. It was fun taste testing at the different venues, ending with cupcakes. What more could you ask! would definitely recommend.

Our guide was fun and very knowledgeable. He's a NYC lifer, so he knows his stuff! I'm a picky eater and vegetarian, and every food choice selected was perfect and delicious! I loved seeing Bob Dylan's hangout, the Friend's apartment, understanding NY's gentrification situation, and the walks weren't too long or tiring. Oh, the cupcakes!!!!!! Yum!

It was great to experience the West Village and the wonderful food and history that it had to offer. It was an area we would of other wise not seen.

Wonderful tour. Matt was great. Learned new facts about NYC history and it architecture, and enjoyed the food choices, especially the empanadas. Highly recommended, even if you are from NYC.

Very pleasant and educational/entertaining afternoon. It was 3 hours of walking through historical areas of Greenwich Village (West Village I learned) while a friendly, informed and patient tour guide did her thing. The food stops were fascinating and gave us plenty of nourishment (not sure about calorie intake, but the 3 hours of walking made up for it). Highly recommend.

Ian (our guide) was great: knowledgeable, enthusiastic, friendly, and accommodating. Even having lived in NYC a long time, I learned some things about Greenwich Village (as well as finding some delectable eateries) I hadn't known.

Everything was very good, fun, informative and casual. What I didn't care for was that 90% of the tastings were done outside on the sidewalk. Fortunately it was a gorgeous day but had it been raining, we would have suffered. Really enjoyed Ian as our guide.

The West Village food tour with Ian from Sidewalks of New York was excellent! My friend and I had so much fun. I have lived in New York for 8 months and learned so much on the tour -- from history, to pop culture and cool new places to eat and drink in the area. Each food stop was delicious, and Ian knew the answer to every random question we threw at him. He was a great guide -- super fun and knowledgeable! Highly recommended.

My husband, daughter, and I enjoyed the tour. The only thing we would've changed was the order of the restaurants. We would've preferred to start with bagels and end with dessert (cupcakes). Other than that, it was a great experience.

I have been to New York plenty of times, and while this included a lot of history I knew, I still learned a lot. The eateries chosen were very diverse and represented the city well. My tour guide was excellent and friendly. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who wants a taste of New York City.
