It was great! Everyplace we visited had delicious food and it was fun to learn about each neighborhood in Brooklyn. Laurie was an awesome guide (humorous & informative) and Muhammad was a great driver adept at navigating the crazy streets of greater NYC.
What's Included
- Discover the history, cultures, and foods offered in the vibrant neighborhoods of the world-famous Brooklyn borough
- Travel by coach to several neighborhoods with distinct character while accompained by a knowledgeable, local guide
- Sample mouthwatering foods in each and learn about the history and people!
What happens on the day
Immerse yourself in the rich history and culture of various Brooklyn neighborhoods and sample the cuisines of each!
You will travel in a climate-controlled coach with a guide who will point out landmarks and share stories of the past and present. You will alight from the coach to take photos and – importantly – sample the foods offered. These mouthwatering dishes include pierogies and kielbasa, New York-style brick oven pizza, and cannolis.
Some of the areas included are the Ultra-Orthodox Hasidic Jewish area of Old Williamsburg where time appears to have stood still, and the arty area of New Williamsburg with its stunning range of shops and restaurants. Greenpoint is home to one of the largest Polish populations in the US, characterful Manhattan Avenue, and numerous restaurants. Gowanus sprang up around its infamous canal and is gaining a reputation for art spaces and music venues. The Italian neighborhood of Carroll Gardens provides bars, boutiques, restaurants, and brownstones. In DUMBO, converted warehouses and vintage loft spaces are typical of this arts-oriented neighborhood. A visit to Brooklyn Bridge Park provides a breathtaking view of Manhattan's famous skyline.
End your adventure by walking back to Manhattan across the Brooklyn Bridge or staying with the coach. This fascinating tour is an unforgettable treat for all the senses.

Customer Reviews
It was great! Everyplace we visited had delicious food and it was fun to learn about each neighborhood in Brooklyn. Laurie was an awesome guide (humorous & informative) and Muhammad was a great driver adept at navigating the crazy streets of greater NYC.
We took the tour on October 12, 2023, along with 20 others from around the country and the world, Laurie our guide, and Walter our very skilled driver. It was top-notch. Laurie is a font of knowledge about the diverse neighborhoods we visited, all delivered in a chatty personal style that felt completely unrehearsed. Our fellow travelers were a congenial lot, and the food was good: excellent falafel and a taste of very good shawarma meat; a rugelach pastry; a very good empanada, a tasty slice of coal-fired pizza; cannoli from an Italian bakery, and two excellent chocolates from a specialty chocolatier. This tour isn’t cheap, but it delivers good value. Thanks to all who made it possible.
