New Jersey Dinner Cruise

My wife and I of 31 years had a wonderful evening of good food, drinks and dancing. The cruise ship staff were friendly and made our evening out one to remember. This was a gift from our son and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The Manhattan skyline was breathtaking topped off by our close-up of the Statue of Liberty.

The dinner cruise from New Jersey was absolutely beautiful. Our server Lizzy was very nice and attentive. I definitely recommend this to anyone for a beautiful night out on the Hudson River.

Some issues we had: we paid for first class and a premium bar which should have been included. when we get there we find out that things like Bailys, grey goose or remy martin is not included. They were very nice not to charge us but there should be some description of the exceptions. Also broadway style entertainment is mentioned in the description, there was no entertainment except some dj music.

The staff on the dinner cruise was extra nice and helpful. We really enjoyed this evening getaway.

We had a blast, and will continue to book trips with this company!

From the booking, confirmation, the ease of getting tickets the night of the cruise from the box office, meeting the captain of the boat, fantastic dinner, very very nice and entertaining waitor Lou and the beautiful scenery of NYC and Lady Liberty. The smooth ride on the boat was a ride I would love to take again!

The overall experience was good on the Spirit of New Jersey. The staff was very attentive and helpful. The food however was average at best! If you are interested in a few hours of seeing the NYC Skyline along with the Statue of Liberty, I would highly recommend the Spirit of NJ. Lori B.

The Spirit of New Jersey Boat Cruise was definitely not worth the amount of money we spent. The food was gross and it was not clean by any means. The table that they sat us in was at the front of the ship and there was extra table cloths stacked up on the floor next to our table. The buffet table was not clean prior to them putting the food out which really turned us off. Imagine eating off of a cutting board that still had old meat stuck to it from the prior cruise...not very appetizing. The waiter was ok. The only good experience we had was walking up to the second floor and viewing the beautiful city of New York and the Statue of LIberty. I would never recommend this cruise to anyone.

So disappointed in the Spirit dinner cruise! This cruise is WAY over priced for the quality of food and service that we received. As soon as you get on the boat you are encouraged to get up and get your food. We wanted to order a drink, which took about 5 minutes to get. The boat is docked and rocking, so trying to get your food is a rocking experience!! The food is displayed cafeteria-style with small signs stating what is in each tray. There was a tray labeled salmon and tilapia, so I asked one of the girls (can't say server because there weren't any, you served yourself) which one was salmon, and I thought she replied "the fat one"!! Really, who puts 2 different fish in same tray? For $260.00 I would hope someone would be serving the food!! The food was mediocre, at best. The only positive was sitting on the top deck on a beautiful night cruising past the skyline of NYC! However, there were lots of guys smoking cigars, which was offensive and took away from the experience. When we were getting close to the end, we went downstairs hoping to get some dessert and coffee. The dessert set out was less than appealing! We did not have forks and when I asked for some, I saw them actually washing a couple of forks to give us!! Now the DJ was blasting LOUD Latin music, truly unbearable! Could not wait to get off the boat!! Unfortunately, we both spent the night in the bathroom!! We were a party of four and paid over $500.00, wished we went to the River Cafe instead!! Fine food and service was expected, along with the spectacular views of NYC! Not worth the price is an understatement!
