What happens on the day
Experience the combined power of a tractor, excavator, and a loader during this wildly fun play with heavy machinery package!
Your incredible day will begin with a safety overview and an in-depth orientation of your Caterpillar backhoe loader. Your professional instructor will show you all of the machine’s levers and buttons, and before you know it, you’ll be climbing into the driver’s seat.
Communicating via a hands-free headset, your instructor will lead you through a series of simple warm-up exercises to make sure that you feel comfortable with your machine. Don’t worry, you’ll soon be digging trenches and moving dirt like a pro!
After learning the basics, it’s time for some real fun. Put your newly learned skills to the test as you complete fun challenges such as tire stacking. You’ll know when you’ve mastered the backhoe loader when you can expertly stack the tires into a perfect pyramid. Then, enjoy some well-deserved free time where you can dig, claw, and drive to your heart’s content (under the watchful eye of your instructors, of course).
At the end of the day, celebrate all of your hard work with a fun ‘graduation ceremony’. Boast about your achievements and take home a certificate of completion. Before you leave, don’t forget to snap a photo of yourself with your impressive, backhoe loader!

What can I expect during this experience?
You can expect to have a great time operating a Caterpillar backhoe loader. The goal is to dig, claw, and drive this machine to your heart’s content.
What should I wear? Will I get dirty?
Closed toe shoes are required to participate. Otherwise, wear clothing that is comfortable and weather appropriate. You might get a little dust on your shoes, but unless you want to lie down and roll in the dirt, you’ll leave squeaky clean.
Can my friends and family watch?
Yes! There are two dedicated areas for spectators to watch and take photos.
Can I have someone ride in the cab with me?
No. For safety reasons, all machines are for one person.
Do I need a driver's license?
Nope, no driving experience needed!
What is the accessibility of this experience?
Most disabilities can be accommodated during this experience. However, you must have good vision and have good use of your upper body. If you are deaf or hard of hearing, we ask that you bring along someone who can help the instructors facilitate through sign language. What if I don't speak or understand English?

Why do I have to take a breathalyzer test?
Because safety is our partner's number one priority and concern, all individuals must be able to pass a breathalyzer in order to operate your machine. If you fail this test, you will not be allowed to participate and you will lose the value of your experience.
Returns, Exchanges & Cancellations
Returns
Experience Vouchers that have not been redeemed can be returned hassle-free within 14 days. All refunds will be made to the original purchaser.
Exchanges
Experience Vouchers that have not been redeemed can be exchanged for anything else in our marketplace at any time. If you choose to exchange for an experience that costs more, you'll simply have to pay the difference. If you choose to exchange for an experience that costs less, you'll have a credit towards your next booking with Virgin Gifts.
Cancellation Policy
Once you have received a booking confirmation, cancellations and rescheduling are allowed up to 72 hours prior to the experience. Failure to appear on your booked date or to cancel and reschedule at least 72 hours prior to your booked date will result in the loss of the value of your experience. In the event that your tour is cancelled due to inclement weather, maintenance issues, or unforeseen circumstances, you will be able to reschedule directly with the experience provider.
