What happens on the day
Chiseled out by millions of years’ worth of flood erosion and impactful winds on its Navajo sandstone walls, this section of the canyon has been sculpted into the iconic "X" shape that aptly gives it its name. And on this all-day tour, you’ll venture into this fascinating landscape for an incredible encounter with nature!
Your journey begins when you meet your local expert Navajo guide, who will lead you on a short walk to the canyon’s entrance. Descend into the canyon, where you will find yourself in a world made of rocks and sand.

Because of the hike over sand and rocks, this tour is not recommended for anyone who has mobility issues. It is strongly recommended that participants be able to walk unassisted and are in reasonably good physical condition.

The hike to Horseshoe Bend Overlook is a 1.5-mile roundtrip (2.4 km) hike over sand and rocks.

Once you have received a booking confirmation, cancellations and rescheduling are allowed up to 72 hours prior to the experience. Failure to appear on your booked date or to cancel and reschedule at least 72 hours prior to your booked date will result in the loss of the value of your experience.
