Customer Reviews
The event was very well organized and all staff were friendly and eager to provide assistance. However, overall I would have to say I was a little disappointed in the experience. The primary reason I say this is because of my co-pilot driver. He talked WAY too much. He tried engaging conversation during the drive. His instructions were unclear and contradictory at times (go ahead and open it up, but not too much yet) which limited my speed. I’d watched videos of others driving this course and their instructors were clear in what to do; example GO FOR IT when it was time to accelerate. He seemed in love with the sound of his voice. Very distracting and annoying. I feel that he had a direct impact of my enjoyment of the experience truly believe I would’ve had better performance with another instructor. The seating position was ungodly uncomfortable. I understand being close to the wheel and brakes but I don’t understand why I needed to be SO upright. This position combined with the helmet made my head push forward and down a little bit. This took away from the experience as well. The staff in the pits were very courteous. Going out of their way to make sure everyone was comfortable by offering water. There was music being played which helped create an even more exciting atmosphere but it was quickly turned off, couldn’t understand why they would do that. While in line to drive the Ferrari I overheard another participant tell me about doing the benefit of doing the ride along to get familiar with the track. I opted to do the same. However, I fell that the drivers and staff should have asked first if any of the passengers were also going to be driving. I was in the back seat and had a limited view of the course. This was very disappointing as well. Drivers should be given preference and directed to sit in the front seat. I would still like to do this again. I will be more assertive. I will tell the instructor about this experience to make sure he knows what not to do and try to make the experience more enjoyable.
Response from Virgin Gifts
Hello Brian, Thank you for writing in and sharing your experience at the track with us! We greatly appreciate all feedback, both positive and negative, as we use it to help improve our experiences for the future. First of all, I would like to apologize for the fact that your experience was anything but amazing. We strive to provide memorable and bucket list opportunities, and it sounds like you received an experience that was potentially memorable for the wrong reasons. We want to extend our apologies on behalf of our partners for the overwhelming communication during your drive. They always intend to be helpful in order to give you the best possible experience, but sometimes less is more and we understand that. Contradictory instructions can be frustrating, and when you're speeding around a track, we recognize how that could be very distracting. Despite the overwhelming communication, we hope that you were able to gain new knowledge during your time at the track. When you are ready for round 2, I am sure your previous experience will be most helpful as you navigate the track at top speeds. We are also sorry for the fact that your experience in the car was uncomfortable as well! The reason that drivers have to sit upright and close to the wheel with a helmet on is for your own safety. As these exotic vehicles are narrower than most, it can feel very tight but we understand wanting a more comfortable position since this is such a fast-paced adventure. For your next drive, please let your pit crew know that you need additional space and they will do their best to accommodate your request. We are happy that the staff in the pits treated you well and brightened your day by offering refreshments! While the music does serve the effect of creating an exciting atmosphere, our experience providers do eventually have to turn it down as a safety precaution. This is to ensure that the drivers can communicate effectively with their instructors, and vice versa. We are thrilled to hear that you got to do a ride along before your drive, but apologize that you had to squeeze into the back seat. We truly hope that you were able to gain some familiarity prior to your drive but were also able to enjoy a fast paced thrill ride. We value your feedback regarding the high speed ride along, and will pass it along to our team at the track. Although some aspects were less than ideal, there really is nothing in comparison when you're being zoomed around the track at fast speeds. It makes us unbelievably happy to see that despite the bumps with your experience, you are still willing to come back and give it another shot! It is wonderful to hear that you will be more assertive and tell the instructor how you are feeling, in order to give yourself the best experience possible. Thank you so much again for your feedback and we will work with our partners to improve the experience for everyone moving forward. Kind Regards, Brianna
