What happens on the day
There’s no better way to end a day on the river than taking in the surrounding nature and wildlife by the fading light of the setting sun. On this magical 3-hour kayak tour, you’ll soak up a spectacular sunset over a broad and beautiful section of the Potomac River – an area favorite for locals and the perfect spot for admiring the wonders of nature.
Meet up with your experienced guides and kayak instructors for an introduction to the area as well as a brief lesson in paddling techniques to help you get the most out of the experience. Once you’re all geared up, climb aboard and dip your paddle into the water, admiring the sky’s brilliant colors that are already beginning to reflect off the river’s surface.
Watch in awe as the sky above is painted with stunning reds, oranges, and yellows. Drink it all in and keep an eye out for local wildlife like great blue herons, egrets, kingfishers, and even the occasional eagle.

What can I expect on the tour?
You can expect to have a great time with knowledgeable guides and kayak instructors as you explore the Potomac River at sunset.
Do I need any experience?
No kayaking experience necessary! Your guide will teach you everything you need to know.
What should I wear?
Dress according to the weather, you will get wet. Dressing in layers is always best, with swimsuits, shorts, or pants made of synthetic quick drying material, and shoes that can get wet. Shoes with good traction are required. Bringing a dry change of clothes and towel is recommended.
What else should I bring?
You may also want to bring a personal water bottle and a camera.

The Potomac Kayak Sunset paddle was amazing and fun thanks to our Guide JUSTIN, He's skilled, patient, funny and a great teacher. Booking the experience through Virgin was not great. Incorrect info and multiple follow ups. Next time's we'll book directly at the park.
