What happens on the day
Embrace the afternoon breeze and take to the sea for an incredible and enlightening sail on Penobscot Bay!
Your 2.5-hour eco-sail will begin when you meet up with your captains. Both are USCG licensed and have a deep passion for sailing. Step on to The Heron and marvel at her stunning white sails and John Alden design. Considered one of the most famous classic yachts of all time, The Heron was featured in the Johnny Depp film The Rum Diary and has sailed over 100,000 sea miles since her launching in 2003.
Set sail for Maine’s picturesque waters and listen to a fascinating narrative detailing the history of Rockport Harbor from your onboard environmental educator. Sail past the beautiful Indian Island Light and learn how lobstering, shipbuilding, and the processing of lime has impacted life in Maine. You’ll also be treated to the famous story of Andre the Seal. During low tide, visit the birthplace of Andre the Seal and view other harbor seals basking on Robinson’s Rock.
Before heading back to dry land, help yourself to some light refreshments such as cookies. Water, soda, beer, and wine will also be available for purchase.

What can I expect on this tour?
You can expect to have a great time with friendly people and knowledgeable local captains. The goal is to have an amazing time while sailing through Penobscot Bay.
What should I bring?
Bring a sweater or windbreaker, hat, sunglasses, binoculars, camera, sunscreen, and any additional refreshments that you may want. If you wish to consume alcohol, please bring a valid ID.
What is the accessibility of this tour?
Individuals using walkers or crutches can be accommodated. Wheelchairs may be able to get down the boat ramp to the dock if the tide is high, but there is no access to get the wheelchair on the boat. individuals may leave their wheelchair on the dock, but this is dependent on each individual, their capabilities, and if they have people in their party to help get them aboard. If you require special accommodations, please contact the experience provider prior to booking to ensure your needs can be met.

Cancellation Policy
Once you have received a booking confirmation, cancellations and rescheduling are allowed up to 48 hours prior to the experience. Failure to appear on your booked date or to cancel and reschedule at least 48 hours prior to your booked date will result in the loss of the value of your experience. In the event that your tour is cancelled due to inclement weather, you will be able to reschedule directly with the experience provider.

We enjoyed the hospitality, extremely capable crew, the friendly family dog, and the lecture about the area. The trip was invigorating and enjoyable!
We were running a little late but, they waited for us, which was very kind of them. All personnel were wonderful. We had a fantastic 2 hour cruise.
