What happens on the day
On this Massachusetts Avenue Food Tour, you will explore the commercial corridor bordering two of the most historic neighborhoods in Indianapolis, Lockerbie and Chatham Arch.
Mass Ave is a well-known commercial boulevard that was designed as one of four diagonal streets leading into the heart of Downtown Indianapolis. A lot about Indianapolis has changed since Mass Ave was born in 1821. Today, this neighborhood lies at the center of the city's art and cultural district.
This historic district is home to an ever expanding food scene, encompassing nearly two dozen locally owned restaurants. The restaurants throughout the area are a combination of long standing local favorites dating back to the 1800's, to new hotspots embracing the culinary traditions of the "Circle City."
This Massachusetts Avenue Food Tour will explore the progression of Indianapolis' cuisine over the past 150 years; from the traditions brought over by the city's original immigrants, to locally sourced progressive cuisine, all within a beautifully restored neighborhood.

Customer Reviews
Great tour and company!
Food tours are so much fun. We were able to try some new restaurants and love that we walk in with a reserved space and food ready. Merry provided interesting history and architectural features along our walk.
Have lived near Indianapolis my whole life and have worked downtown. I knew just a bit about the history of Indy's oldest buildings. Walking was the only way to fully appreciate the history. The guide was very knowledgeable and kept us all organized. The food stops were amazing. We had German food, awesome meatballs and a great American sandwich of melted cheeses and roast beef. To top it off, our last stop was for ice cream. Really loved the tour. The next time I am in a different city, I will definitely take a similar tour. Great Job!!!
