What happens on the day
Take your taste buds to the patisseries of Paris (without having to leave Chicago)!
In just 2.5 hours, you’ll learn how to pipe, bake, and assemble a gorgeous batch of French macarons. Your expert pastry chef instructor will treat you to a detailed demonstration, and then, it's your turn to shine! Mix up your meringue before piping each macaron onto a baking sheet.
Once perfectly baked, you’ll fill each cookie with an incredible filling. Explore a variety of decadent flavors including buttercream, ganache, and fruit preserves. No matter what, you’ll fall in love at first bite!
Everything you need to create mouthwatering macarons will be provided. Plus, all of the ingredients are easy to find in local markets – so you can show off your new baking skills at home.

If you choose to exchange for an experience that costs more, you'll simply have to pay the difference. Cancellation Policy
Once you have received a booking confirmation, all bookings are final. No cancellations or rescheduling requests will be allowed. Failure to appear on your booked date or to cancel prior to your booked date will result in the loss of the value of your experience.

For the price, the macaron making class was overall a decent experience but it was clear that it's a low budget operation. I love to bake and bake a lot but have avoided even attempting to make macarons on my own as I know it's a process and not an easy process. With that being said, the class size was much too large for one instructor. Additionally, there wasn't even enough equipment for everyone so the process took longer than it should have taken. It was also difficult to get assistance with one instructor and at least 40 class participants. Overall, the class seemed disorganized and there were a lot of participants uncertain of next steps. And then when it came to baking and making the filling for the macarons there were more hiccups, more confusion, and timing issues where the instructor would disappear into the room with the ovens where the macarons were baking while in the middle of making the filling and participants were all just standing around. There needs to be at minimum two instructors for this class or an assistant for the instructor to keep things moving along. Or the class size needs to be much smaller. I know this affects profit but they could charge $10-$20 more per ticket and cover those costs.
