What happens on the day
The runway is rendered obsolete when you climb aboard a seaplane. Get ready for a high-flying adventure with this exciting 30-minute flight that’s your aerial gateway to the Harris Chain of Lakes and Ocklawaha River.
Feel the rush of adrenaline as the engine roars to life, and the pilot navigates the plane across the water. Take-off is a real thrill, and when you get into the air, the views are breathtaking. Your FAA Certified Pilot will fly you over Lake Eustis with the sun glistening off the water’s surface. Soar above the gorgeous wilderness of Lake Griffin, then get ready for a treat when you see the Ocklawaha River.
The pilot will take you on a “splash & dash,” where you’ll touch down briefly on the river’s surface before lifting back off and zooming into the air again. Take advantage of the touch-down to scan the river for any alligators who may be enjoying the Florida sunshine. Then skim over Lake Harris at a lower level before heading back to Lake Dora to come in for a water landing.

Is there a weight limit?
The maximum individual weight is 300 lbs, and the maximum combined weight is 775 lbs.
Is the tour wheelchair accessible?
Wheelchairs can roll right up to the aircraft but passengers have to be able to walk a few steps to get in and out of the plane. Please let Virgin Experience Gifts know of any special accommodations needed at the time of booking to see if arrangements can be made.
What type of plane will we be flying on?
You'll be flying in a Cessna 172 float plane, Cessna 185 amphibian, or Cessna 206 amphibian.
