Food Tour in South Beach Miami

The tour was great. Jennifer was very knowledgeable about her city that she loves and her love for the culture and food. We loved every moment and the restaurants we attended were great.

Our guide, Lana, was very prompt, friendly, and knowledgable. She was well versed in the local history. We sampled a fine variety of local foods. We would definitely recommend this experience.

We had a very enjoyable tour with Jennifer, who obviously loves Miami and is very knowledgeable about the areas we visited. The choice of restaurants varied from small, family-owned establishments to Emilio Estefan's upscale restaurant. Food choices were varied and delicious and ones that I probably would never have ordered, but I'm so glad I tried. No one left the tour hungry, the group was diverse by both age and ethnicity, and we all enjoyed the experience immensely!

This food tour gave me a real taste of Miami! Normally I go on trips, hang out at the beach and clubs, go spend a bunch of money eating at a random restaurant -- then am mad once I go home because I feel like I didn't see enough. With this food tour, I was able to experience five different restaurants while seeing the Art Deco and getting the history of the many places we walked by. I'm doing tours every time I go somewhere from now on! Couldn't have asked for a better guide either!

Our guide was great, fun and very knowledgeable. This tour has so much food that at the last stop most of us took it to-go. Our guide made it a point to talk to each person on the tour, which is a very kind gesture. Sorry I can't remember her name, but the tour was January 15, 2015.

Our son gave us Cloud 9 as a gift; so glad we took advantage of it here on Miami Beach. Our guide made it a fun experience, pointing out noteworthy Art Deco hotels and private residences along the walking/food tour. By the end of the 2.5 hour experience we had 'hit the food wall' (stuffed). We will certainly suggest this tour to friends and family in the future. Our tour guide was engaging and knowledgeable, sharing lots of great information about different cuisine in South Beach.

We did the walking tour of Miami. It was quite a nice evening as there were 16 other people on the tour, so we got talking to everyone. We were a little disappointed as it was not as good as we expected. There was not a lot of time at the places to order drinks, etc., although water was provided. We only managed to order at 1 venue. The meeting place was not great, a street which we had been told to avoid after dark by another tour guide. The first restaurant on this street was not great either, actually made us a little concerned that we had made a mistake booking the tour at all. They served us Churros to take out which was really tough. After eating these in Madrid with dipping sauce at one of their oldest chocolaterias, this did not match up, and mine ended up in the bin (I wasn't the only one). Also we turned up really hungry, and to be given a dessert first was a bit of a strange choice. The restaurants got better after that. Jennifer, our guide, was lovely and gave us lots of information about the area which we enjoyed. the places we visited were interesting. The portions were small which was fine for me, but the men on the trip were still hungry at the end. The last stop was a lovely little Italian bakery where they served a takeaway version of a stuffed pita bread. For me, this should have been nearer the beginning, as I found I couldn't eat the bread after all those stops. Italian ice cream at the end was great. Overall I didn't think it was worth the amount we paid for it.

We had a good time with the guide and the other people on the tour. However, the food was rather pedestrian. The first restaurant, Angler's was the best one Saviche.... a good choice for an appetizer. One restaurant gave us tiny cut up rolls of something.... not enough to share. Jerry's famous diner gave us cookies cut into 1/4..... really? not even a whole cookie? Also, the food was all latin, so it was not really diverse. I suppose if I was not from around Miami it would have been interesting to eat that... but Southbeach cuisine has so much more interesting things to offer then empanadas. It seems to me that if you are having a food tour, then you must make sure that the food is good.... looks good.... tastes good and is enough for people for dinner. This should be true for all the venues, not just one or two. I must say, we left hungry!
