Approximately 20,000 gray whales pass San Diego in their 10,000-mile annual migration from the Bering Sea to Baja California.
The whales' migration path is such that they come very close to La Jolla Shores. By paddling about a mile or slightly more offshore, you can catch these incredible animals, plus other marine mammals such as seals, sea lions and dolphins on this 2-hour tour.

Is all the equipment provided?
Kayaks (single or tandems), paddle, life jacket, and guide are included. Wet suit rentals are offered during fall, winter and spring for an additional cost.
What do I need to wear and bring?
Wear shoes that can get wet, a bathing suit and or drip-dry shorts/shirt. A hat and sunscreen are also recommended. You will be able to leave a towel and dry clothes at the shop or in your vehicle. Please do not bring valuables and things that cannot get wet. Expect to get a bit wet.

Experience Vouchers that have not been redeemed can be returned hassle-free within 14 days. All refunds will be made to the original purchaser.

Experience Vouchers that have not been redeemed can be exchanged for anything else in our marketplace at any time. If you choose to exchange for an experience that costs more, you'll simply have to pay the difference. Cancellation Policy
Once you have scheduled a date and received a booking confirmation, cancellations and rescheduling are allowed up to 72 hours prior to the experience. Failure to appear on your booked date or to cancel and reschedule at least 72 hours prior to your booked date will result in the loss of the value of your experience.

The kayaking was great. Didn't see any whales but apparently we were at the end of the season. It was still a beautiful day on the water. Only one problem - the time that we booked for on the Virgin site and the time the shop was running the tour were different, so we showed up 2 hours earlier than we needed to be there.
