What happens on the day
Mountain scenery, effortless lift, and the pure joy of silent flight – there’s nothing quite like cruising the skies in a motorless sailplane. This approximately 30-minute glider ride is an incredible experience that you’ll be talking about for years to come.
Before your flight, you’ll meet up with your instructor for a brief introduction to flight operations, the aircraft, and safety. Next, you’ll slip into the front seat of your glider, which is hooked onto a plane by towline, and that’s when the fun really begins.
Feel the anticipation build as you are pulled down the runway and lifted into the air, climbing a mile into the sky! Hear the click of the towline release, and then it’s just the sound of the wind as it carries you through the sky with the birds.
The clear plexiglass canopy gives you unobstructed views of the world below. Enjoy panoramic views of the famous San Andreas Fault Line or the Three Sisters and Santa Ana peaks of the Diablo Mountain Range. At the end of your flight, you’ll safely glide back down and roll to a gentle stop on the runway.

What should I wear?
Wear clothing appropriate for being outdoors in the current weather. In summer it’s warm, and if you are comfortable with shorts on the ground, you will be comfortable with shorts in the glider. In winter it will be as cold in the glider as it is standing on the ground. Please bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen (if needed).

Unfortunately, this experience is not handicapped accessible.

When is the best time to fly?
The best time to fly is whenever you can get there! Flights before 1:00 pm are the smoothest. During the heat of the day there is more unstable air so it is better soaring, but bumpier. So, it is more your decision on the type of ride you want.
Is it safe?
Yes, it is safe. Since gliders do not have an engine, there is less that can go wrong. The experience provider does hundreds of rides each year, and participants leave with a big smile on their face!
Are we towed by an airplane the whole time?
No, you are towed to the altitude appropriate for your ride. Once there, your pilot will release the glider from the tow plane. Then, for the duration of your flight, you soar quietly through the air back to the airport.

If you choose to exchange for an experience that costs more, you'll simply have to pay the difference. Cancellation Policy
Once you have scheduled a date and received a booking confirmation, rescheduling is allowed up to 72 hours prior to the experience. Failure to appear on your booked date or to reschedule at least 72 hours prior to your booked date will result in the loss of the value of your experience. In the event that the flight is cancelled due to inclement weather, you may reschedule directly with the experience provider.
