What happens on the day
Try your hand at something new and explore the captivating practice of flameworking with this unforgettable class!
Your 1-hour workshop will begin when you step into one of Sedona’s premier glass studios. Your expert instructor will take you behind the scenes and into the studio’s incredible torch shop. Before getting started on your project, you’ll receive an important debrief in glass safety and etiquette.
Then, it’s time for some fun! Watch as your expert instructor shows you how to safely use a propane/oxygen Nortel Minor torch. Using rods and various other hot tools, you’ll carefully form the molten glass into stunning cylindrical beads. Personalize your beads as you learn a variety of decorative techniques such as dots, swirls, foils, twists, and so much more!
After you’ve completed your set of beads, each piece will be set aside to anneal overnight. This process allows the glass to cool slowly and results in stronger, less-brittle glass. Projects are typically ready for pick up the following day.
Once properly annealed, your fabulous beads will be ready to wear and shown off with pride. Every time you wear them, you’ll remember the wonderful time you had during this Introductory Flameworking Class!
