You'll meet your tour guide at Old Town Scottsdale where all tours depart. After a brief overview of the experience you’ll set out for an adventure through the desert landscape outside of Arizona’s biggest city. This tour features free photo lessons, so you can brush up on your skills before heading out. While hiking is involved in this adventure, it is light, making this experience accessible to those newer to outdoor adventures.
Drive through the tribal lands of the Pima-Maricopa community, learning about their culture and history. Travel along one of America’s most scenic highways, the Apache Trail, with awe-inspiring vistas on both sides of you. This is a great time to capture stunning landscape photos. This trail features a resplendent, oasis-style beauty and is home to the famous Superstition Mountain. This is where the “Lost Dutchman Treasure” is supposed to be buried. After this scenic drive, you'll enjoy a light-to-moderate hike in the Tonto National Forest. Here you’ll see a host of cacti, Palo Verde trees, wildflowers, and if you're lucky, members of the desert wildlife will make an appearance!
All tours conclude with a visit to the Goldfield Mining Ghost Town. This is an authentic ghost town with ample backdrops for photos and selfies. This tour has been designed to offer the most meaningful information available, so you walk away with more than just photos and memories, but a deeper appreciation for the environment and culture of Arizona’s Sonoran desert. Bottled water and light snacks will be provided throughout the experience.
