What happens on the day
Prepare to be blown away by natural beauty when you explore Alaska on this Chugach State Park Forest and Valley Hiking Adventure!
Meet up with your experience provider and get ready for a fun, 5-hour adventure! This excursion consists of two portions, taking you to enjoy the forested trails at Eagle River Nature Center and then to Chugach State Park’s best waterfall. Start out by exploring trails through thick spruces and birches while looking for wildlife. You can find American Dipper swimming in a tributary warmed by geothermal heat, moose, snowshoe hare, red fox, or even a bear!
For the second portion of the tour, take a short ride to Barbara Falls. You’ll take a half-mile walk to reach the magnificent gem of a waterfall that awaits you. This hike features incredible plants, fungi, and photo opportunities that will take your breath away. Stop to admire untouched landscape, soak up the fresh air, and enjoy the sounds of nature!
