Best of Food Tour in Philadelphia

Absolutely amazing. Our tour guide Adam was super friendly and fun. The food was great as well. All safety precautions were met so we felt totally safe on this tour.

Matt was a terrific guide who knew so much about the history of the city and how food has interwoven throughout that history. The stops and the food were terrific and we were lucky enough to have a sunny day for the tour (you will walk outside). While we walked roughly 2 miles, Matt's conversation and our full bellies made it feel like a casual stroll.

Our tour guide Adam was a swell guy! He was so knowledgeable and did a great job telling us facts about the city and it’s food. I have been on a lot of food tours and this one was definitely one of my favorites. Would recommend to anyone looking to get to know the city and it’s food.

Even on a cold, windy, rainy day we had fun and sampled some great Philly food. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the city, the food, the places we visited, and historic architecture. We plan to revisit some of the places we ate. We are very interested in eating at DelFrisco's ( a real find on the tour).

It was a really fun afternoon. The food was great but the instructor made extra with all her knowledge about the city. Kelly is very fun and interesting to listen to. I truly enjoy my afternoon.

Cloud 9 Living was extremely friendly, prompt, and eager to answer any questions. Our tour guide, Judy, was just as friendly and welcoming. She was very knowledgeable, clearly having given tours for a number of years. This experience exceeded expectations. I will definitely be booking another in the future!

The Best Of Philly Food tour was really food. The food was perfect, although a lot of carbs. Perfect amount of history and knowledge of the city for it bring a food tour. Adam was a great tour guide! The pace was perfect. Couple suggestions: list out the places we will be going to. My husband can only do minimal stairs so it's great to be able to research beforehand to see if the tour works for us. (On this tour there were only 2 places and both were accommodating) When you go to the market, let the group know where to meet incase they get stuck behind the crowds of people. It was a nice walking food tour with just enough history. Matt the guide did a really good job as host, guide and wait staff!

This was a great food tour and enjoyable experience. Even though we are local to Philadelphia, we still learned a lot and visited food places we had never been to.

It was an enjoyable walk around center city Philly. A lot of interesting history and facts that you'd not normally hear about. A good mix of local foods. The guide was very pleasant.

The meeting location should have a sign or symbol showing people where the tour will be meeting. My boyfriend and I arrived about 25 minutes early to be on the safe side and asked 4 or 5 different people if they knew where the food tour met. No one knew what we were talking about. I wasn't sure I was in the right place. Luckily, I saw someone with a flyer for the tour and was reassured that I was in the right place. On a happier note, Jamie was an amazing tour guide. He shared a lot of Philadelphia history and brought us to some awesome eateries. I would recommend his tours enthusiastically!

The food tour of Philly was great. We had a wonderful time experiencing good food, unique glimpses of center city and a good amount of history along the way. Our tour guide deserves a lot of credit. he was outstanding, not only did he know the restaurants and the history of the foods, but he also knew a lot about Philly, in particular the history of many buildings in center city. Moreover, he was delightful. He was charming, quick and witty throughout the tour, a true pleasure for my girlfriend and I to listen to.

The booking processing was confusing as I had a gift certificate for a Tour for 2 so I thought I needed one tour when I needed two. When I called them, they said they would fix and send new email. Never got the email so I was nervous that my party wouldn't be able to go. It was fine when I got there, but I didn't know that I would be. The guide was just OK.. Not very energetic or engaging. Really felt like we were being shuffled from place to place. Granted it was a large group, but often was in the front and there were no attempts at engagement. I really wanted to know what we were doing before hand and there wasn't a list of possible places on the website. Also beverage should have been included. We were each given a bottle of water at the beginning of the tour. If I had known that was it for the tour with many carbs to follow, I would have brought more. Splurge for a pitcher of water at each place or at least at the pizza and cheesesteak place. Tour ends at a different place than where started. That is fine, but there assumption is people know how to get back to where they parked etc. again, just something people might want to know.

Ryan was fun. The food was okay. I'm not sure why I expected the best of the best food-wise. Maybe that expectation left me feeling overall disappointment with the tour. The tomato pie felt educational and was interesting, if not delicious. The doughnut and pretzel were both very good. The cheesesteak (Zio's) was the biggest disappointment with dry meat, barely noticeable cheese, crunchy onions.... scored very low on the flavor scale. For all things having to be within walking distance of one another, I assume it was the best that could be done for the tour.

I was surprised when I learned that booking the tour directly through cityfoodtours.com was MUCH cheaper than booking through Cloud 9. The experience was nice but less than I expected. I didn't anticipate the guide handing me a bottle of water out of her cooler and that being my only beverage on the tour. I also didn't anticipate the small portion sizes and splitting dishes with total strangers (cheese fries). Our tour consisted of a bottle of water, a slice of tomato pie, a small soft pretzel, half a cheese steak w/ an order of cheese fries split amongst 4 people, a small chocolate covered pretzel pulled from the communal bag, and a single cake truffle. I expected much more for $55 than this. The tour was enjoyable and informative, but for a foodie, it was disappointing.
