What happens on the day
Adventure is calling! Experience the magic of open-air flight in a classic WACO Biplane.
Your high-flying adventure begins at the American Airpower Museum where you'll meet an FAA-certified pilot before slipping into a legendary WACO Biplane. This vintage aircraft was a primary trainer used by the Civilian Pilot Training Program to teach new Army Air Force pilots during WWII.
Unleash your inner aviator as you settle into the cockpit. Then, with a flip of the ignition switch, watch as the propeller begins to turn and the engine roars into life. Feel the wind in your face as your expert pilot speeds down the airstrip and lifts off into the clear blue sky. Along the way, you'll enjoy spectacular views of Long Island, learn about the aircraft, and discover the history of flight!

Experience Vouchers that have not been redeemed can be returned hassle-free within 14 days. All refunds will be made to the original purchaser.
Exchanges
Experience Vouchers that have not been redeemed can be exchanged for anything else in our marketplace at any time. If you choose to exchange for an experience that costs more, you'll simply have to pay the difference. If you choose to exchange for an experience that costs less, you'll have a credit towards your next booking with Virgin Gifts.
Cancellation Policy
Once you have received a booking confirmation, no cancellation requests will be allowed. Rescheduling requests are allowed up to 48 hours prior to the experience. Failure to appear on your booked date or to reschedule at least 48 hours prior to your booked date will result in the loss of the value of your experience. In the event that your tour is canceled due to inclement weather, maintenance issues, or unforeseen circumstances, you will be able to reschedule directly with the experience provider.

I was originally scheduled for a ride in a WACO biplane but the first day was too windy so rescheduled. Second try - the plane was down with engine problems so they offered me a more expensive ride in the AT6 Texan at no additional cost. The trip was fantastic. We took off over Jones Beach, flew along the beach, headed north, flew over my house, west along the Sound, and then back south to the airport. The flight was smooth and the views were great.
