What happens on the day
Home to some of Colorado’s highest peaks, Summit County is the perfect place to get your steps in while enjoying time in the great outdoors. On this full day, you’ll conquer one of the region’s iconic peaks with an expert mountain guide!
Prior to your experience, you’ll have the opportunity to share your interests and fitness level with your expert guide. Based on this information, they’ll take to a trail that’s perfect for you! Perhaps you’ll trek up one of Colorado’s legendary 14ers. Or, if you’re looking for a more secluded experience, you may hike one of the area’s lesser-known peaks including Mt. Royal, Mt. Victoria, and Buffalo Mountain.
No matter where you end up, you’ll ascend a well-maintained trail - no technical gear required! While the climb up may be hard, it will all be worth it once you make it to the top. As soon as you reach the summit, you’ll be rewarded with jaw-dropping views! You’ll feel like you’re standing on top of the world as you admire distant forests, lakes, mountains, and more.
If you’re lucky, you may even spot a myriad of wildlife on the way up! Listen for the high-pitched chirp of a pika, look for mountain goats, and watch as alpine butterflies flutter through the sky. No matter who is out and about, your guide will share interesting facts about life at high altitude.

Do I need previous experience?
Participants should be in good physical condition and comfortable hiking at high elevations. We also highly recommend participants spend around 3 days in Summit County or similar elevations prior to your hike. This can help you adjust to the elevation and prevent altitude sickness.

What should I bring?
In addition to comfortable layers of clothing and hiking boots, we recommend bringing a sack lunch, extra snacks, water, sunscreen, and a small backpack to store your personal items. Come prepared for a variety of weather conditions. Weather in the high country can be extremely unpredictable and you should bring along a raincoat/wind breaker, hat, gloves, and long pants.

Once you have received a booking confirmation, all bookings are final. No cancellations or rescheduling requests will be allowed. Failure to appear on your booked date or to cancel prior to your booked date will result in the loss of the value of your experience.
