Old Town Food Tour in San Diego

We did not know what to expect, but Rochelle got the group engaged and the experience was awesome. Rochelle was knowledgeable about Old Town's history. She was extremely organized and in control of the tour. I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in some great food, drinks in a group setting. I had a great time!!

Katie was our guide, and she was delightful. She had a cheerful disposition and was very knowledgeable about the Old Town area. At the second restaurant stop, I mentioned that I was a vegetarian (and she was too), so she asked our server for a vegetarian option for both of us. My fault that I hadn't mentioned this sooner :) Note to Cloud 9: if there is a more prominent way to note that someone in your group has special dietary needs in the initial booking process, it would be helpful.

Our guide Aperna was great and very informative (so she is 5 stars), but we felt that the amount of food was a little light. We weren't actually full at the end of the tour - one more taco and margarita stop would have been good!

I thought it all went well. Portion of foods were a nice size and tasty. Tour guide was friendly, gave a lot of information. All in all a pleasant evening.

Fun tour with great food and drinks!

The operator cancelled our first tour because we were the only ones signed up for the Thursday noon tour. We went for the Friday 4:30 tour and were asked to arrive 10 minutes early which we did with 20 minutes to spare. Another couple arrived at 4:25. We waited until 4:35 to text to make sure the tour was still on. We received no reply. When 4:45 arrived, my husband called to find out what was going on. There was a mix-up on the tour and they told us to go in and order drinks on them while we waited for our tour guide. He arrived and was very apologetic about the mix-up. We understand that things happen, but that is not why I gave a 3-star review. The operator called the tour "Tequila, Tacos, and Tombstones". We (my husband and I) were a little disappointed on the lack of variety of foods. The first place served chips and salsa, margaritas and soft carne asada tacos. The second place served chips and 4 salsas, soft chicken tacos and margaritas. The third place served a corn dish, and the dessert place served a churro. The history of the area was interesting. The tacos tasted good in both restaurants, but it would have been better to have different foods at each stop like maybe quesadillas as appetizers at one place instead of tortilla chips at both. And maybe a different entree than tacos at both. Our guide was very knowledgeable. Due to the medication I was on, I couldn't participate fully in the beverages. Had I known on the Virgin site that it was a tequila tour, I would have opted for a different one. Maybe Virgin and the operator could call the tour by the same name so there is no confusion.
