Adventure, sea views, and incredible falcons? This La Jolla experience combo has it all!
During your tandem kayak tour, you’ll paddle around magnificent rock formations while your guide offers fascinating histories and facts about the ecology and conservation of local wildlife. Then, you’ll explore the kelp beds of the La Jolla Ecological Reserve—all while keeping an eye out for seals, Garibaldi damselfish, pelicans, sea lions, and leopard sharks.
But the fun doesn’t end there! You’ll also enjoy a 2-hour falconry lesson at the Torrey Pines Gliderport, a jaw-dropping historic landmark overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Get up-close and personal with a variety of powerful birds while learning how to hold and free-fly them using a falconry glove.
At the same time, you’ll discuss each bird’s flight style, the relationship between bird and falconer, and how you can help birds of prey in your own backyard. Of course, there will also be plenty of time to ask questions and snap photos with your new feathered friends!

- Participants must be at least 6 years old and able to swim
- Combined participant weight cannot exceed 450 lbs for tandem kayaks
- Wet suit rentals are offered during fall, winter, and spring for an additional cost
- For safety reasons, it is not guaranteed that you will go into the caves on the tour
- Entering the caves is never recommended for pregnant women, small children, or inexperienced kayakers

Cancellation Policy

Once you have scheduled a date and received a booking confirmation, cancellations and rescheduling are allowed up to 72 hours prior to the experience. Failure to appear on your booked date or to cancel and reschedule at least 72 hours prior to your booked date will result in the loss of the value of your experience.
Hands-On Public Falconry Experience
Once you have received a booking confirmation, no cancellation requests will be allowed. Rescheduling requests are allowed up to 48 hours prior to the experience. Failure to appear on your booked date or to reschedule at least 48 hours prior to your booked date will result in the loss of the value of your experience. In the event that your tour is cancelled due to inclement weather, maintenance issues, or unforeseen circumstances, you will be able to reschedule directly with the experience provider.
